Bracken Ghyll is open for new members. There is no joining fee and the course is open 365 days each year (weather permitting). Where possible we play from the normal tees to the usual greens throughout the year. Only when there is frost or excessive water on the course which could cause long-term damage, or when necessary maintenance work is being carried out will we use provisional tees or greens.
Bracken Ghyll is without doubt one of the most welcoming and friendly clubs in the north of England. The club is owned by the members, and the Directors and committees have the best interests of the course and club at heart. Over the years all revenue has been ploughed back into the course and facilities and we hope that you will come and visit us in the near future and consider joining this wonderful golf club.
For new members, particularly relative beginners, there is a flourishing Social Golf group (SOGO) that meets for friendly play every Wednesday evening during the summer months. This provides an ideal opportunity for newcomers to meet other members, get used to the course and experience the true ambience of Bracken Ghyll Golf Club in a relaxed atmosphere.
