Member retention – tell us what you think.

As you’re aware over the past year we have enjoyed a significant increase in club membership. I’ve been asked by our President, Ian Silverthorne, and the Management Committee to look into how best we can look after our new members and ensure that their membership of the Club is a positive experience for all.

Of course all members of the Club are important to us and my roll is fully inclusive of both new and existing members. However, joining a Golf Club can be an intimidating step and my immediate focus is on:

1. Our new younger Intermediate members;

2. ‘New To Golf’ members;

3. ‘New to a golf club’ members;

4. New to the area members.

I will be reaching out to all of you in time but if you have any suggestions or concerns that you feel we could address now please make contact by email (see below). Typical questions might be; finding a partner to play with or entering competitions when unsure of the rules and procedures etc. All of these things are normal and easily resolved.

A simple questionnaire will come out soon and once we’re back playing golf we intend to hold a number of social and friendly evening events to introduce new members to golf club life at Bracken Ghyll – the friendliest club in the area, we believe.

In the meantime I look forward to meeting you soon – either on the course or in the clubhouse (when we’re able!) – and please feel free to come over and chat.

Cheers
