Clarification on Relief Available From “Ground Under Repair” on 18th Green
For the avoidance of doubt, here are details of the 3 situations when free relief is available. To restrict rabbits scrapping the surface of the slope towards the front of the 18th green three thin plastic mesh protectors have been fixed on the green. These mesh protectors are deemed to be Abnormal Ground Conditions ( Ground Under Repair).

Under Rule 16.1a free relief is available when:
• the player’s ball is on a mesh protector, or
• a mesh protector physically interferes with the player’s intended stance or area of intended swing.

BUT ADDITIONALLY – Line of sight relief is available as follows:
• Relief is also available – ONLY when the ball is on the putting green, and a mesh protector intervenes on the line of play.

RELIEF – the reference point is the nearest point of complete relief and the relief area is one club length, not nearer the hole.

Pass it on…..
