Christmas Message from Captain Tom |
Merry Christmas and a happy new year to you and your family.
What a year it has been, least said best forgotten. For all its problems we did manage to complete all of our Seniors competitions, in no small part due to all the help and assistance I received from the Seniors Committee. As soon as the COVID situation allows us to do so I will arrange a presentation of the trophies. With the days now getting longer and having found a vaccine to this awful virus hopefully we have a new year to look forward to. Brian Southgate is ready and raring to go to arrange our Seniors’ friendlies, Stephen Chappell is also up and ready to take some of us to Cally Palace for our away trip and I have also managed to get the deposit for our away day to Shaw Hill carried over to 2021. Fingers crossed that the developing COVID situation allows all these to proceed as planned. Our competitions will return as soon as it is practicable to do so. These will be played under our new Handicap Index (HI) which Competition and Handicap Committee and its WHS Sub-Group has worked so hard at throughout the year to ensure that we’re fully prepared. How nice it will be when we can actually put this all-new World Handicapping System into practice. And finally a quote now from another Captain Tom – ‘Tomorrow will be a better day’. Take Care and Stay Safe. Tom Witherington |
