Our return to golf – the key dates

Our return to golf – the key dates
All being well (fingers crossed!) we’ll be returning to the course on Monday 29th March. Between now and then we’ll send out necessary member information in bite-size chunks so there’s not too much for you to forget!

This is Member Info #1 and provides the framework for our return i.e. the key dates.

MONDAY 29TH MARCH
• From this date you will be able to play in 4balls with NO restriction on the mixing of households. To optimise the number of playing opportunities for all members your Management Committee will actively encourage 4ball play in the mornings and request members still shielding or vulnerable to book tee-times later in the day.
• For the 2 weeks to Sunday 11th April the course will be available for casual golf for members only (no visitors or member guests) to give you every opportunity to get back into the swing of things.
• To this end there will be no reserved tee-times for sections and no restriction on tee-time booking i.e. you can book any available tee-time on any day and on any number of days each week. However you will not be able to book more than one tee-time per day.
• During this 2 week period government guidance requires that the clubhouse remain closed except for a ‘front desk’ facility in the Pro-Shop and for the use of the toilets and wash hand basins.

MONDAY 12TH APRIL
• This will see the start of competitions and the return of reserved tee-times for sections. The Pro-Shop and clubhouse will also open from that date.
• Monday 12th will start with the men’s monthly weekday stableford, the first ladies’ competition will take place on Tuesday 13th and Thursday 15th will see the return of the Seniors’ SCT (now best 10 of 17).
• Talking competitions – the Ladies’ Knowles Crystal and the Seniors’ Senior Salver (both winter competitions) have now been cancelled and your Captains are currently reviewing the diary for the summer season. The updated version together with closing dates for competition entry will be released shortly.
• It is also anticipated that inter-club league competitions will commence from Monday 12th April but this will be dependent upon government guidance at the time and the attitude of both the appropriate league organisers and the other clubs involved.

MONDAY 17TH MAY
• All being well both these popular weekly ‘social’ events will start this week to coincide with the government’s COVID road map date for the indoor opening of bars and restaurants etc.

…AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST
• When we return the lead time for tee booking will be extended to 14 days with tee-times continuing to be released at 6pm daily. This means that tee-times for our return on Monday 29th March will be available from 6pm on Monday 15th March. So that now becomes another key date for your diary!

Hopefully this provides what you need to know to plan your return to golf and more information re COVID policies and procedures and what new course features you can expect will follow in more bite-size chunks over the next 3 weeks.

In the meantime should you have any questions or require any further information or clarification regarding your return to golf please don’t hesitate to contact me as below.
