| As part of our communication countdown to the introduction of the WHS, please find within our second update in the series.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION: a number of members have raised questions as to when and how they will get sight of their WHS Handicap Index. We are continuing to liaise with England Golf and our System Providers as to the exact timeline BUT we have been made aware that the EGU plan to make your predicted WHS Handicap Index available on the EGU Members Area on or around the 19th October.
Our advice for members is to ensure they have signed up for BOTH an England Golf account at https://www.englandgolf.org/my-account-member/ and register for How Did I
Do https://www.howdidido.com/Account/Register. Please remember that to use these services you must use a unique email address (cannot be shared between golfers) and if using HDID this should match the email address we have for you on file.

What does the WHS handicap transition look like?
The transition from a CONGU handicap to a WHS handicap index will be calculated using the new WHS conversion process. Qualifying scores within a player`s record dating back to January 2018 will be used.
Players who have between 3 and 20 qualifying scores will have those scores in their current CONGU record transferred and reformatted for WHS. The reformatting takes account of the course and tee played along with new Course and Slope Ratings.
There will be three groups of players:
Group A – More than 20 scores
Group B – Between three and 19 scores
Group C – Less than three scores.
The Handicap Index allocated for:
– Group A will be the average of the best 8 from the last 20 scores.
– Group B will be based on a sliding scale of averages dependent on the number of scores on record.
– Group C will based on the current CONGU handicap and updated as further scores are returned.
